School and Community

Glenn Hills Middle School is a public, suburban middle school located in Southwest Richmond County. At its initial opening in 1996, under the leadership of Bertha Sutton, GHMS had an enrollment of 1,108 students making it the largest middle school in Richmond County.  With the opening of Freedom Park School on the military Base of Fort Gordon, our student population has declined over the years. Our feeder schools are Glenn Hills Elementary, Barton Chapel Elementary, Meadowbrook Elementary, and some of Jamestown Elementary School, and we feed into Glenn Hills High School.  We are the home of the mighty Seminoles wearing our school colors burgundy and gold with great pride.  Our motto is “AIMing for the TOP of the Hill and Beyond.” Our scholars are Aiming for Excellence.

College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) is Georgia’s statewide accountability system. The CCRPI assesses how well students are prepared for college and careers, and ensures that schools are focused on improving achievement among all students. The index measures student achievement on indicators such as content mastery, student growth on progress, subgroup performance on closing gaps, and various areas including Lexile performance, attendance, and other academic based measurements. Schools earn CCRPI points based on indicators that vary by grade and school level and align with measures of college- and career-readiness.  Each individual component score is on a scale of 0-100.
